Some would argue that the original 16.4 Bugatti Veyron was the genesis of the modern “hypercar”. It was an all-round engineering marvel – the first supercar to be fitted with a dual clutch gearbox, the first to produce over 1,000hp and the first to breach the 250-mph mark (253 mph to be exact). Fast forward to 2009, and the Grand Sport variant of the Bugatti Veyron introduced open-air driving to the 1,001hp motoring icon. Offered here is chassis no. 33 of just 58 examples ever brought into existence. Finished in Black Blue Metallic over a Burnt Orange interior, this 2011 example has a truly unique backstory, as it was specified and owned by Bugatti for the first three years of its life. Bugatti expertly curated the specification to best suit their halo product, which they proudly displayed at their Molsheim HQ. Bugatti also chose to bestow this example with a selection of upgrades taken directly from the updated and final “Grand Sport Vitesse (GSV)” variant of the Veyron to include GSV suspension, a GSV exhaust system and polished aluminium strips which run from the base of the A-pillars along the buttresses of the car culminating at the rear. The car also features clear rear tail lights. Chassis no. 33 was officially registered and delivered to its first owner in 2014 - a very well-known collector who resided in Monaco and enjoyed a 4-year tenure of the vehicle, sparingly covering miles in the sun-drenched mountain switchbacks just outside of Monte Carlo. The car was then sold to a private collector in the UK, who had a shorter spell of ownership, before it eventually came under the custody of its third and final private owner. Throughout its life, this beautiful example has been meticulously maintained by Bugatti with an incredibly comprehensive service history recorded. The most recent entry was carried out in December 2024, and adding to the value of the car is the fact that the next custodian will benefit from a remaining free service, including a new set of tyres, as part of a Bugatti service plan on the car. A fully documented history file is also present, with the original build sheet referencing the magnificent display car specification. Covering 9680 miles, this example presents in remarkable condition and benefits from a full PPF coverage.
