DIRECTOR’S NOTES
The flexible yet strong, distinctive ‘gas pipe’ style known as Tubogas was actually patented in 1881, however became adored by jewellers from the 1940s onwards. The technique requires great skill and precision as the metal is wrapped around a core with edges that interlock meaning there is no soldering required. It is a remarkable design that has become instantly recognisable. Whilst Tubogas does stand alone, it’s versatility from a design perspective also means that it has also been utilised in multiple iconic collections by major fine jewellery houses over the years.
