DESCRIPTION
A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk Striking Time White Gold Black A. Lange & Söhne Lange & Söhne represents the height of German watchmaking. The brand was founded in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in the small Saxon town of Glashütte, and was one of the driving forces behind making the region Germany’s center of watchmaking. From the start, the goal was clear – to achieve the same level of precision and craftsmanship as the Swiss masters – and dare we say it, they did just that. The brand flourished until the mid-20th century, when it was nationalized under Soviet rule after World War II.
But after German reunification in 1990, A. Lange & Söhne was reborn – revived by the founder’s great-grandson, Walter Lange. A rebirth that would change everything. In 1994, the first collection after the reunification was launched, the now iconic Lange 1 – known for its asymmetrical dial, large dates and incredible finish. A modern classic was born, defining the brand’s sophisticated identity. Today, A. Lange & Söhne is celebrated for its high complications, hand-decorated movements and uncompromising level of detail. Models such as the Datograph, Zeitwerk and Richard Lange are among the world’s most sought-after by collectors and enthusiasts. Although Switzerland dominates the watchmaking world, A. Lange & Söhne is proof that German precision, elegance and innovation are also in a class of their own.
