Her private archive is one of the most comprehensive in existence — a working reference library that spans decades of production, covering leathers, hardware, colorways, and craft details that few outside the ateliers have documented. When Jane entered the secondary market, pre-owned luxury carried a stigma. Resale was an afterthought — consignment shops, estate sales, transactions conducted quietly and without standards. There was no infrastructure for authentication, no shared language for condition, and no expectation of transparency. Jane helped change that. She brought the same rigor to resale that the maisons apply to production: meticulous documentation, verifiable provenance, and a level of expertise that gave collectors — and eventually the auction houses themselves — a reason to take the secondary market seriously.
